GARFIELD COATINGS, LLC

LIMITED WARRANTY

Bathtubs, wall tile, and fiberglass fixtures are warranted for a period of one year against peeling, blistering, cracking, or other failure of adhesion of the refinishing materials. Repairs due to defects in material or workmanship will be made free of change during this time.  Garfield Coatings, LLC does not warranty sinks or rust repairs.  Warranty commences on the original Invoice date.

The following conditions will void your warranty:

  • A suction cup mat CANNOT be used.  If non-suction cup mat is used, it must be removed after every use.

  • The surface must not be allowed to remain continuously wet.

  • The fixture must not be used for water storage or contain standing water for extended periods of time.

  • Damage caused by continuous wetness from leaking or dripping plumbing.

  • Damage, chips, nicks, caused by sharp or falling objects or misuse.

  • Staining or discoloration from chemicals, industrial bleaches, rust, hair dyes, acids or the use of abrasive cleaners such as Ajax or Comet.

  • Movement of the substructure resulting in cracks or splits in the refinished surface.

  • Degradation of the refinished surface caused by lack of cleaning.  Bathtub should be cleaned every two to four weeks.

  • The use of masking tape on the refinished surface.

  • Washing of animals in the bathtub that causes scratches.

  • Bar soap is not to be placed directly on refinished surface.

In the event of a failure covered under this warranty, Garfield Coatings, LLC will, at our option, either repair the failed area or re-refinish the entire fixture. Caulk or damage caused by caulk is not warrantied.  GARFIELD COATINGS MUST BE NOTIFIED WITHIN TEN DAYS OF THE DAMAGE TO REPAIR BEFORE IT GETS WORSE. If your coating gets a chip and you fail to call us, it may eventually peel causing us to have to refinish a larger portion of the fixture or possibly the entire fixture at your expense, so please call us at the first sign of damage.  Warranty does not renew after the original warranty period.  Spot repairs, whether covered under this warranty or paid for after warranty, are not warrantied.

Having your bathtub refinished is not an exact science.  There will always be some minor flaws that occur during the reglazing process.  If you are looking for perfection, it will be better to buy a new bathtub.  To a person who is unaware that the unit has been reglazed, a minor flaw will not be noticed unless pointed out.  Some minor flaws are burrs from dust flying around the bathroom while the unit is being sprayed, occasional tiny fish eyes (pin holes),

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: Use only non-abrasive, liquid cleaners on your refinished surface. Use spray cleaners such as Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Cleaner or liquid cleaners which do not contain abrasives, bleach, acids, or chlorine and are safe to use on acrylic, refinished or reglazed surfaces. For best results, spray the surface and let it penetrate for 5 - 10 minutes before wiping with a sponge or washcloth.

PLUMBING: Our workmen are not plumbers. They are not trained, equipped, licensed or authorized to do plumbing. If they remove or replace any pipes or fixtures at your request, it is done solely as a courtesy and the responsibility for any damage is yours. In some cases, the screws holding the fixtures in place break off or strip.  Garfield Coatings, LLC not responsible for such damage.  Note that the porcelain bathtub is etched with hydrofluoric acid in order to create a surface that can be bonded to.  Garfield Coatings, LLC takes all precautions to ensure that your fixtures will not become discolored due to this process.  The fixtures are removed, if possible, but Garfield Coatings, LLC will not be responsible for any potential discoloration if the fixture remain in place.  It is best that you remove the fixtures prior to the beginning of the job.  However, Garfield Coatings, LLC will mask off any fixtures that cannot be removed to minimize any discoloration from the acid etch.

SURROUND WALLS:  Garfield Coatings, LLC will not be responsible for wall paint that may come off after we mask off the areas to be sprayed.  Nor will Garfield Coatings, LLC be held responsible for deteriorating drywall during caulk removal.

CURE TIME: The fixture must cure for 12 Hours after the time our workman finishes. Do not use the fixture during this time and see to it that the refinished/repaired areas remain free of water. Full cure time is 7 to 10 days.
