ABOUT US

Hello,

Thank you for taking interest in learning more about how our reglazing company came to be.  It’s an amazing story that I’m sure you will find interesting as well.

Back in 1954, my father and Uncle began refinishing refrigerators, dishwashers and vent hoods in the Detroit suburbs.  But people didn’t bring their appliances to my family’s shop, my father and uncle learned how to spray them in the customer’s home.  Not only was this revolutionary at the time, but the fact that people did not have to  lose the use of the appliance for more than a few of hours set the industry standard.

In 1967, my father moved north to the Flint area and expanded the territory to include Mid - Michigan.  Soon after, the thought of reglazing bathtubs  came to the forefront.  Material after material was tested and year after year they got better.  At that time, nobody in the United States was reglazing bathtubs.

I remember as early as 10 years old, going with my Dad to different jobs and carrying his equipment in the homes.  I made $10.00 / day helping him.  By the time I was 16, I was painting refrigerators by myself.  I would work on the weekends and make enough money to do the things that I wanted to do.

Back then, I remember refinishing refrigerators really cool colors like Avocado, Coppertone and Harvest Gold.  Refrigerators and other appliances made up 90% of the business.  Today, those colors are not cool and now the bathtub and tile reglazing make up 90% of the business.

My father has since retired and in the 1990’s  I moved further north to the Gaylord area.  Like my father, I have expanded the territory to include most of  Lower Michigan and Upper Michigan.  Our company now travels from Grand Rapids, Lansing and Flint to Houghton/Hancock.  To help with such a big endeavor, my son's James and Zach became involved in the company in 2009.

To the best of my knowledge, I have been refinishing and reglazing appliances and bathtubs for longer than anyone in the world.  And I mean actually doing the work.

Well, that’s our story.  There is a lot of history and a lot of knowledge that I have gained over the years.  My dad and Uncle were the pioneers and my son's and I are carrying on the legacy.  Thanks for your interest and I hope to talk to you personally.
